Many children are familiar with the traditional Bible stories and yet some still struggle to understand how these stories relate to them personally. The Pilgrimage of Jacki and Gerri is a biblically based children’s book series designed to help the young reader learn that connecting with Jesus is the goal of every Bible story, a perspective seldom emphasized in children’s literature. Children of all ages will readily identify with Jacki and Gerri, real children, who ask real questions. The targeted age group would be approximately 6-12 years, however, the study section at the end of the book makes it a great tool for teachers, home-schooled children, Sunday school classes, and afterschool programs.

The Crownless King
A Little Bit About The Crownless King
In book one, The Crownless King, Jacki and Gerri are exploring the new world around them. Soon they meet up with the king. Jacki and Gerri have many questions for the king. Gerri asks the man, “If you are the king, where is your crown?” The king reaches out to hold the girls’ hands and, journeying through the land, he spends time explaining the difference between earthly kings and the one true King.
The king describes the natural world and the spiritual world, helping them understand that the natural world comes first because humankind is in the natural. Then he explains how you can gain wisdom when you first see in the natural world, however, with spiritual lenses the spiritual world can be seen.
The girls then come upon a woman and she is wearing a crown. The girls do not recognize the woman and they believe she is wearing the king’s crown.
What is this new world? Who is the woman they meet and why is she wearing the King's crown?
